Oliver Roethig, UNI Europa Regional Secretary is one of the high level attendees of the UNI Europa ICTS Outsourcing Project Workshop taking place in Brussels today. The workshop is the main event of an EU funded project looking at the different outsourcing flows and strategies of companies in the ICT sector.

On 30-31 October 2014 took place in Bucharest the Deutsche Telekom CEE Union Alliance annual meeting, organized by UNI Global Union, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, AFL-CIO Solidarity Centre and FSCOM. A dozen unions from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Switzerland and United States participated in the event together with UNI Global Union.

Over 40 participants from 15 countries took part in the first meeting of the Ericsson global trade union network, organized by UNI Global Union and IndustriALL Global Union in Nyon, Switzerland on 26-27 April. Ericsson, a leading ICT multinational company, operates worldwide and employs more than 116,000 workers.

At the opening of the UNI Global Union IT Organizing Conference in Berlin, over 150 trade union leaders vowed to prepare for the future and organize in the IT sector. Trade union leaders agreed that there was a need to work together to strategise and find better ways to organize in this large and rapidly growing sector.
